Having issue with logging in through SFTP

I’m having issues with logging in through filezilla. This issue started yesterday. The agent told me to wait about an hour because apparently I hit my limit.

So I waited for an hour and I was able to log in now I can’t log in again. When I try to log in it keeps getting stuck. It tries to connect.

It timed out. It’s automatically retrying that’s how I hit my limit it automatically retries after it fails and connection timed out.

    Hi there,

    Please try again once.

There are chances the IP address would get blocked if there are multiple login requests with wrong credentials. Currently, details which you provided in your chat for SFTP should work.

If you're not using static IP address please try to restart your router this might change your IP address and you would be able to connect it again.

In your chat, I can see that you were having an issue with Filezilla as it keeps automatically re-connecting and eventually ending up getting blocked.

You can always limit the maximum number of reconnection retries.

    To change that visit

    Open FileZilla.

Click on the "Edit" menu > Settings

Go to the "Connection" section > "Reconnection settings".

Edit the value next to "Maximum number of retries".

If you think you entered correct credentials but still you're getting blocked, then I would suggest you send me your IP address so that we can check detailed logs and try to find why you were getting blocked.

You can get your IP address at this link

    – (S)FTP credentials for file access (If they are the same given in the secure live chat, then no need)

    – IP address

    – Any relevant other relevant information

Keep in mind the subject line as ensures that it gets assigned to me.

    Hope this helps.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you and resolving this issue as soon as possible.

    Hello,

Our server might have blocked your IP address for multiple login requests with incorrect credentials.

You can always stop the connection change your SFTP password if you have doubt that you might have entered the wrong password and Filezilla is trying to reconnect again and again with the wrong credentials. Your IP address generally gets blocked for few hours after the certain number of incorrect login requests.

If you use SFTP frequently you can store your credentials in FileZilla so you don’t have to enter the credentials each time you connect.

If you need a detailed log on why you got block I would require your IP address so that I check with the server admin team for more information.

    Hope this helps.

Feel free to reply back to this ticket if you need more assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Neel Gajjar
