Help clean site that seems to be Pharma Hacked

Our site appears to have been ‘Pharma Hacked’- we’ve had some phantom links to spammy websites placed on the site.

    Hi Will ,

    Have cleaned up WordPress core files to ensure there isn’t any malware. We weren’t able to notice any issues in the database side, however, it’s something we would recommend double-checking with the hosting provider as they would be able to run extensive scans.

    Could notice the Salient Theme hasn’t been updated too. Would highly recommend updating the theme, and plugins to ensure they are free from any malware.

    I’m trying to run a new Defender Scan, but I’m afraid it seems to be stuck around 18.22%. This seems more related to having low memory resources allocated to the website.

    The current memory_limit seems to be 128M for your website which is very low. I tried to increase the value but it doesn’t help much.

    Could you please bring this into your hosting provider’s attention, and ask to increase the resources to at least the following:

    upload_max_filesize = 128M
post_max_size = 256M
memory_limit = 512M
file_uploads = On
max_execution_time = 800

    Also, your website is running on PHP 5.6, which is quite old. Updating PHP to version 7 or greater is highly recommend as they are very fast compared to version 5.6

    Please do see how the Defender Scan goes once the memory is increased so that we could check further if needed.
