[HOSTING] Delete Staging environment

I am trying to clean up the test site and I want to delete my staging environment for the same. How do I do it?

    Hello Mark

You can’t delete the staging site once that is created. You can reset the staging site any time, and that will be sync with the live marriage. Moreover, the staging site is private and hidden, so you need not to delete.

Is there any specific reason you want to delete?

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,

      Hi Ash ,

A little thing called GDPR came in earlier this year, one of the key points of which is not keeping data around for longer than needed. For those of us that have a privacy policy with something like ‘…we delete data after X months…’ and something similar around backup copies, how do you suggest I implement that if I cannot delete data held in a staging area?

Regardless of data protection laws, my workflow, like I’m sure others, is to work on a site for X amount of time developing and deploying changes then cleaning up once the project end. So firstly, as Julian suggests why would I want to increase my storage count with useless data? Also, imagine if 12 months or longer go by and the staging area isn’t kept up to date and it is somehow accidentally pushed to live being a year out of date?

I actually can’t believe I’m trying to justify the point, to be honest, you need to be able to delete staging copies of sites.

Hi Mark – very much appreciate the feedback, and we definitely agree that there are multiple reasons why you’d want to delete a staging site. It isn’t in the current UI, so it won’t be quick or easy to add, but it is now on our development roadmap to look into our options. Thanks again!
