[Hosting] Increase WP memory limit for lower level hosting plans

8

Hi – I build many small websites using elementor + ACF, that are lower budget, low hosting resources/cost, but need a minimum of 256-512mb memory limit to support the builder. I frequently run into this issue of needing to scale some sites up to $30-60/mo my cost Silver+ hosting plans (so double cost for the client) in order to simple get enough memory on them. This is a big drawback when trying to build quick, small sites with low traffic using elementor. Please support more memory in the lower level pans- thanks!

    Hi John ,

Trust you are doing good and thank you for reaching out to us.

We offer managed WordPress hosting, which requires specific PHP resource limits to ensure optimal performance for hosted websites. Therefore, I’m uncertain if increasing the memory limit is feasible for lower hosting plans. However, I’ve passed your request along to the hosting team for evaluation. We hope that more people vote and this request will receive higher priority.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

    Hello,

I am an agency client and have also recently encountered a memory issue with the quantum server while working on a basic WordPress setup that includes Elementor and an Elementor add-on. This issue has necessitated an upgrade to a silver hosting plan, which, unfortunately, increases costs for my client. Given the simplicity of the WordPress setup we’re working with, it becomes quite straightforward for my client to consider switching to a competitor, where similar WordPress hosting services are available for as low as $4-8 (such as with WordPress.com). I’m struggling to understand the value proposition of the quantum server, especially if it’s not even feasible for just building a site.

    Kind Regards,
    Karen

      Hey Karen I. ,

      Hope you’re doing well today!

We appreciate your feedback and your interest in this request.

The Quantum plan was developed to offer a more lower cost solution for smaller sites.
As you can see in our documentation:

While Quantum is not suitable for e-commerce sites, it is ideal for small blogs, static sites or when developing new client sites. Sites can be upgraded to any other plan at any time.

You have mentioned WordPress.com, it does offer some lower cost plans as well, but you can’t install any custom plugins or themes. Usually these lower cost plans have their limitations.

In your case, if you’d want to host your site there and install Elementor + other add-ons for it, you’d need at least their Business plan (which goes for $25.00 at this moment).

Please let us know if you need further information about Quantum or any other services.

      Best Regards,
      Rael

We really need this reconsidered, far beyond just quantum. your own ai bot suggests:
For sites with multiple plugins installed:
    PHP Memory Limit: 512M
    WordPress Memory Limit: 512M
    Not to mention WooCommerce!

It is impossible to justify $1800 a year for a simple WooCommerce storefront. We are using Elegant Themes Divi (4 and 5) theme/builder as our core for everything and even this without Woo has issues on Bronze Plus (HF) which is a your popular plan I.

IMO, EVERY PLAN NEEDS THESE LIMITS DOUBLED FOR 2026!! PLEASE HELP!

with Luv and sugar on top!

    Hello mpress studios

We understand that plugins like Elementor and WooCommerce, that may seem like essential plugins for any WordPress site, requires a high amount of memory and resources:
    https://elementor.com/help/requirements/
    https://woocommerce.com/document/server-requirements/

In both cases these requires 256MB at minimum, but this increases as the site uses more plugins. The PHP memory is limited per hosting plan, as these are dedicated hosting, the rest of the resources are used for the systems that runs WordPress.

But I understand the needs you have and how our hosting can change to improve your experience. I’m also sharing your feedback to our hosting team.

    Kind regards,
    Jair.

Hi everyone in this tread..speacilly for those part or wpmu-hosting team..
I ‘m adding myself into this request..

Even when I do understand that this is dedicated managed hosting and came here because of the issues encountered with other shared hosting providers, it’s important for any agency that runs all types of clients, the smaller specificaly, the necesity of at least one builder or one or another basic plugin (Lets say just for mention: elementor + revslider) , this combination is almost imposible to run with php memory limits in Quantum plan and for sure there’s a ton of small sites that need this.
Also to have a woommerce site here in WPMU are needeed the Gold plan, nor Bronze or Silver plan is able to run woocommerce smoothly because of the php workers included in, me especially have to recommended my clients alternative solutions because they are just starting in ecommerce and don’t want to spend $90/m in hosting, when there is others that charge much less for it…

The point is, we all here understand the benefits and advantages of WPMU, but is important to listen the market and align the business philosophy to the clients needs, the websites business has grown up in the last year due to AI, but is for this same reason that this business is becoming kinda commoditty as everyday there are a more and more saas, apps, sites, that build whatever the people asks, and many providers understand this, adapt fast and create plans cheaper and apparently better for SMB’s as a starting point.

Imy point of view, but is also my real situation.

    Cheers.
