[Hummingbird Pro] Clarify the information about the compatibility between FastCGI and Hummingbird

1

Both Hummingbird and the FastCGI (Static Server Cache) offers the same kind of Page Cache, and one gets disabled when the other is active on the site.

According to the documentation, Static Server Cache is faster than any caching plugin, yet, both the Hummingbird Wizard and the Page Caching Page in Hummingbird are not clear enough about which is better or recommended, and users may think that disabling the Static Server Cache is the recommended option.

It would be great if the Hummingbird Wizard and the Page Caching page in Hummingbird were more clear, and provided more information about which kind of Page Caching solution to use.

    Hi TGL

I hope you are doing well.

They are not the same, server cache will run on the Nginx level which can have a better performance and cache via plugins run at the PHP level.

Hummingbird 3.10 will include some improvements in the wizard as we see it is not fully clear, though it is hard to tell which cache is better, it depends on the website so we always suggest an A/B test to verify which fits better for your needs.

    Best Regards
