[Hustle] Fatal error when Hustle is activated

We are trying to install the Hustle plugin on our site but we see a fatal error. We have deactivated all the plugins except the WPMU DEV Dashboard, switched to a default WordPress theme and we still get this error. Please advise.

    Debug log information gave us:
    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_user_by() ...

    get_user_by() is a core WP function and shouldn’t be throwing such an error message though. https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/get_user_by/

    Can you please try to re-install WP core files and try to activate Hustle once more?

    You can do that either by downloading the latest zip from wp.org and manually upload via SFTP all folders/files apart from the /wp-content/ folder or from the Dashboard -> Updates -> Re-install Now option.

    Let us know if that makes any difference.

    Also, please keep in mind that the PopUp Pro plugin that you installed instead of Hustle, is actually discontinued and no more updates are going to be done on it, so let’s carry on troubleshooting Hustle if you don’t mind. :slight_smile:
