[Hustle Pro] JS error when clicking to share post

Dear support,

We are experiencing some technical difficulty with the Hustle Plugin and the Social Sharing functionality.

When clicking a particular social platform nothing happens and the following error appears:

Uncaught Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: #

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Justin

I hope you’re well today and thank you for contacting us!

I’ve visited the site and I can see the issue there too. The error in browser console suggests that there’s most likely some unexpected conflict with other JS on site but it might as well be caused by some sort of optimization features.

I checked our internal reports and I didn’t find this particular JS error (or social share behavior). I also wasn’t able to replicate this behavior on my test sites which suggests it’s in some way specific to configuration. We’ll need to investigate it more.

I’d like to take a closer look at the site’s configuration then. Would you grant me a support access so I could do it?

    To enable it:

    – please go to the “Network Admin -> WPMU DEV -> Support -> Support Access” page in site’s back-end
    – click on “Grant support access” button there

and let me know here once it’s done (as I won’t be notified automatically).

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for the very quick reply and investigation. As always we appreciate the support team is taking the time for issues like these.

I just openend support access for the site. Let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Justin

    Thanks for granting access!

I checked site and configuration and tested the issue again there and for now, I’m leaning towards the conflict with the theme. The error in browser console seems to point to jQuery library but a closer look shows it’s also related to one of theme scripts (app.js).

It would be best to confirm that by switching theme to Twenty Twenty. If you’d rather not doing on a live site, I see you already have NS Cloner installed so since it’s a multisite you could use NS Cloner to clone the site to a temporary test site and switch that test site to Twenty Twenty or Twenty Twenty-One theme.

If the issue is gone then we got confirmation. If so, I’d like to ask you if you could share your regular (EPF) theme with us. I would then ask our developers to look into it to see how the conflict could be fixed.

Best way to share the theme would be to upload a zip file to some file storage (like your Dropbox, Google Drive or similar account) and just share a direct download link with us here. We can set the ticket to private if you want to so only you and WPMU DEV staff would be able to access it.

    Best regards,
    Adam
