[Hustle Pro] Multi-Device display optimizations

0

I’d like to request that Hustle’s pop-ups, slide-ins, etc offer built-in, mobile device auto-resizing.

I find it ever so frustrating when putting the final touches on a display unit, only to realize that mobile needs more attention. It’ll hang off of the screen, display massive fonts… you name it. Pretty consistently, it looks like anything other than what I want, every time.

On that note, I’d also like to point out the built-in box shadow checkbox. IMO, using the box-shadow class only works on box displays. (ie: border-radius:0) Who, in their right mind, would want a squared off shadow on a rounded corner box?! I’d highly suggest, and request, that you replace that with “filter: drop-shadow ()”. Having a simple checkbox for box-shadow is just a tease, when I’m always having to add custom css for the display boxes.

    Hi splaquet

    Thank you for the suggestion.

I can see we do have plans to improve the mobile view for Hustle, especially adding more option to control it on Hustle UI.

I’m adding this as a new request.

About the resize, the Pop Up should automatically resize on mobile screen:

Let us know if we are missing anything on this.

Just a side comment: With all of the talk over the last several years about building for mobile, BYOD, mobile-first, yada yada yada, I’m amazed at how few sites are actually mobile-ready. I constantly second-guess myself : “Is it just me?” “Am I using the wrong browsers?” (Note plural “browsers” ) “Maybe I’m running in desktop mode or with some other setting that compels the site to serve up the wrong CSS Media specs or other artifacts?” No … This has been going on for years with different devices, different OS versions, different browsers, different sites. It aint me. Worldwide – too many developers simply don’t check their pages in a mobile device – or they don’t care – or they care and tried and failed due to upstream tooling that doesn’t support it.

I dunno. I’m confused as to how something so pervasively discussed in this industry gets so little real-life attention. It’s like Accessibility, which everyone knows should be done but in reality few do because there’s a misperception that the audience is cost-unjustified minority. But c’mon, everyone has a mobile device and the desktop is on its way to being deprecated. There are huge gaps between what web developers create and the audiences they need to create for.

BTW, awesome nerd quote of the week:

Who, in their right mind, would want a squared off shadow on a rounded corner box?!

      Hi Julian,

So sorry to hear that. Could you please suggest us which CSS properties you would like to control through Hustle GUI as there are hundreds of CSS declarations? We will forward your suggestions to our developers and they will surely discuss this.

      Regards,
      Rupok

    Hi there!

Bringing some good news. We’ve improved the settings for the modules appearance in 4.3.0, which is the upcoming release. It’ll allow you to set up different values between desktop and mobiles for some options, control typography and spacing, among other things. And yes, build-in templates to choose frome when creating a new module is there as well (:

We’ll ping on this thread in the upcoming weeks when we have updates on this.

    Wishing you a great one!
