Hi, I hope you can help. I have a site http://www.fanfullaconstructions.com which I can’t get into. I receive this error when I google the site or use the WordPress link.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting ‘)’ in /home/fanfulla/public_html/wp-includes/post-template.php on line 1377
I contacted the theme developer and they suggested I upgrade using FTP, I contacted my hosting provider and they advised me that I will have to do this through File Manager as I don’t have FTP. This was done however it didn’t resolve the issue. I then contacted the theme developer and they suggested the following as they believe it is a WP issue. I am a designer not a developer so I am a little out of my depth and that is why I contacted you.
Theme provider response –
You can reply here with a private reply at any time but in this instance that error is with WordPress core itself. Your core files may have gotten corrupted if re-loading the theme doesn’t work.
Some other things to try are deleting the enfold theme folder from your wp-content>themes folder to force WordPress to load in one of the default themes, renaming your plugins folder in wp-conent to any other name so WordPress can’t recognize theme and defaults to turning them all off.
If the issue is still happening then you would need to either re-install WordPress or just that specific file that is having the error by downloading the core from here, unzipping, finding that file and uploading it in place of that one:http://wordpress.org/download/
cheers and hope you can assist me with this as it has never happened before. I don’t know if it linked to an issue with Jetpack as they sent security warning emails to upgrade immediately which I did with all my other sites but this and one other is down. The other one hasn’t been designed yet so it isn’t as urgent as this one.
