I have two feature ideas

Hello,
I have two feature ideas for your plugins:
#1: Right now, if you download a picture from our website, it saves it in webp format, which is supposed to help against your pictures being stolen. Have you thought about removing the ability to download pictures altogether? More specifically, when somebody right-clicks a picture, make it so that the right-click doesn’t work.

#2: I’d like to make a nice 404 error page but make it appear to the user for 5 seconds before it automatically takes the user to another pre-determined page. The idea is, make a page appear for a set amount of seconds before going to another page. It’ll say something like this: “Sorry, that page no longer exists. You’ll now be automatically redirected in [countdown timer] seconds.” This 2nd feature idea would be for the SmartCrawl plugin and would just be a simple added feature.

Blessings,
JL
PS: I didn’t know which topic to put these feature ideas on, so I chose “Other Stuff.”

    Hi Jamison ,

I have moved this ticket to the “Features & Feeback” section so that more members could provide their feedback.

I’m afraid the Smush plugin’s primary workflows are regarding optimization, so there isn’t any such feature that’s being looked at or considered at the moment. Preventing an image from downloading would fit as a separate plugin.

You can please check whether any of these plugins fit your needs:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-right-click-images/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-content-copy-protector/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-watermark/

Please do note that I haven’t specifically tested the plugins, it’s something you’ll have to check and see if it fits your needs.

A redirection in SmartCrawl is meant for SEO purposes using a 301 or 302 redirects. The Redirection in SmartCrawl would occur instantly; adding a time delay to display a custom message or a 404 page can affect the user experience.

The query sounds more like a custom workflow. Any specific use case to add a custom message while redirecting? As it can also affect the SEO ranking if it’s redirecting to a custom 404 page.

Please do advise if I’m missing out on anything. Looking forward to your response.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

      Hello,
Specific use case? I’m going to need to delete pages on our website sometime in the future and was thinking of something better than the default 404 error page people would get. I didn’t know it would hurt SEO, though. OK.
OK on the other question, too.
      Thanks,
      JL
