Guys and Gals from WPMUDev,

I must to thank you very much for the job and send my congratulations for a sucessul bussiness model based in OpenSource. The support is amazing and the community around you is vibrant.

I´m not renewing my membership because I´m unhappy but for my absolut lack of technical skills and complete noobness (lol). In fact, as a entrepreuner, I found lots os usefull thing but I had a hard time to figure out how to combine the different plugins that you offer. But I´m totally sure that for the next WP consultant I´ll hire, be a WPMUDEV member will be highly desirable.

Another thing that will improve the non-tech user is clear illustrated material to show how to put to work the different approaches permited by your marvelous plugins and themes: how to setup a for-profit blog ? how to setup a photogalery style e-shop ? how to build and maintain a for-profit community ? And so on …

And the last asking: a centralized service for plugin localisation.

Well, that´s it … For now I must go, but in a near future I´ll be back

Please, stay focused on the excelente job you´re doing !!!

Cheers !!!

    Hi athalyba,

Seriously, many thanks for the kind words. Many of the things you’ve mentioned are being worked on (one of which should facilitate sharing of localized files) and hopefully we’ll all reap the benefits soon enough!

I realize you may have already seen them, but the online manuals here actually provide some very clear illustrations to the effect of what you’ve mentioned. And they’re constantly being updated with newer information.

That said, we’ll be sad to see you go but we do hope we’ll see you around again soon!

    Cheers,

    David

    Hi DavidM,

Be sure that my words are sincere and I´m looking foward to get back here, or to make a WP professional that I´ll certainly hire do that.

But please, pay special attention in what I´m asking for: not a “instalation manual” but a “how to setup” a for-profit blog / a photogalery style e-shop / a for-profit community, showing all the steps and necessary WPMUDEV resources to achieve it. A list of recipes to combine all the WPMUDEV ingredients, in a short term

I´ll be pretty close to this community, hope you´re keeping going ahead as usual !!!

    Cheers !

I actually forgot to mention that in my response. I agree with you there that guides on how to create specific types of sites using various plugins here would be great, especially since there’s so many possibilities; membership sites, review sites, blog networks, small online shops, massive etsy-like markets.

I was thinking that a potential start on that path might be to provide various xml imports for sites that could be used to load in basic (ipsum lorem type) content so people could easily demo the software. This might include default product data for MarketPress, listings for Directory or even basic posts for a blog.

Just a thought, and I’ve been working on things to that effect, especially since I so often need basic data for testing purposes.
