Latest articles,comments and avatars n00bie problem:)

Hello,

I’m running the Edublogs theme and loving it, with all the cool plugins:slight_smile:

But, as a n00bie, I have of course a few problems:

1. How to setup the Latest articles and latest comments on the homepage tab (just like Latest Blogs and forums tab on Edublogs homepage-bottom left)?

2. I cannot upload the user or blog Avatar, even with alt. option. What am I doing wrong?

    Hiya,

    1. How to setup the Latest articles and latest comments on the homepage tab (just like Latest Blogs and forums tab on Edublogs homepage-bottom left)?

    You need to install the "Post Indexer" and "Comment Indexer" plugins. The you need to edit the theme to use the "Recent Comments" plugin (there’s a function you’ll need to add into the theme). We have a Recent Posts plugin and I thought it was uploaded here but I can’t seem to find it. I’ll upload it later today.

    2. I cannot upload the user or blog Avatar, even with alt. option. What am I doing wrong?

    1) Make sure the plugin is installed correctly according to the install.txt that came with it.

    2) Make sure your avatar directories have been created in wp-content (see install.txt).

    Thanks for the quick replies:slight_smile:

    The avatar problem is SOLVED:slight_smile:

    I just needed to chmod the two dirs in wp-content/avatars/.

    But, the tabbed "Latest articles and comments" feature – could you please tell me, what to include where into the theme?

    Hiya,

    Oops, I made a mistake. In order to change the content of the boxes on the Edublogs theme you need to update the RSS feed settings on the "Design -> Edublogs Theme Options" page.

    You can use the "recent comments feed" and "recent posts feed" plugins to provide the feeds.
