Malware issue on my site

My site has a virus or malware that changes my domain and redirect to a random ad site one time about every week.

    Hi Michael,

    I had a look at your site and there are quite a few outdated plugins and it’s strongly suggested keeping everything at the latest version.

    I also checked the Defender scan and see that there are a lot of files reported in there, most of the reports are due to use of eval function and while this doesn’t mean that the code is malicious this code is used in known security breaches and it should be avoided whenever possible.

    You should get in touch with the developers of the reported plugins and check with them if the code used is safe.

    Many of the files reported in Defender are coming from the plugins-old folder, so if you’re not using those plugins I would suggest removing them completely.

    Do you have any backups that were created before these issues started happening?

    It would be best to restore to an older backup where the redirects weren’t happening and then update all of the plugins and themes you have on your site to the latest version.
