Mapped domain has password protection

Hello guys, I’m having the following issue:

I already have 2 subdomains multisites installations up and running in WPMU DEV Hosting Services thanks to the help from WPMU DEV support team. So far for both sites everything is working very good, with SSL and all. I’ve created a couple of subdomains subsites on both installations and everything works good.

So, I wanted to to add/map a domain to one of the subdomain subsites. I pointed A record to the main site, and I mapped the domain using Domain Mapping plugin (Already correctly installed and configured).

So, the issue is:

1. The new domain doesn’t get verified on the WPMU DEV hosting hub.

2. And must important. The new domain seems to be working as it’s point to WPMUDEV server. When accessing the domain’s URL (https://capasso.ca/), WPMU DEV server shows it as it has password protection (I haven’t setup any password protection), so no idea what username/password should be, and no idea why this is happening at all.

Thanks for your help

    Hello there Flavio,

hope you’re doing well and thanks for reaching us!

Let’s first resolve the “DNS status” issue, so the additional domain is pointing correctly to our hosting, then we can check the password protection case if it’s still a thing.

I can see that you’ve connected CloudFlare in the mapped domain, but in order for our platform to be able to see the proper DNS status and install a certificate for it, you should not be using the Full (strict) encryption method, so our platform can actually reach the un-secured domain and install a cert for it.

    https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200170416-End-to-end-encryption-with-Cloudflare-Part-3-SSL-options

Can you please try to use either Flexible or Full and then re-check DNS status in our hosting under the Domains tab?

This should bring a green status in DNS and install the cert. Then you can revert back the Full (strict) encryption in Cloudflare.

Let me know if that makes any difference.

If not, please share some access details so we can have a better look at that. As this is a public forum, you should send us your details through our safe contact form
