MarketPress Checkout Error

I’ve got MarketPress working perfectly on one site, bet upon helping a client configure Marketpress Lite i encountered the following error upon clicking the Buy Now button.

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/home/content/84/3570584/tmp/sess_fc8b3a2cdd45ddcd6d821892866a29d4, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /home/content/84/3570584/html/mp/wp-content/plugins/marketpress/marketpress.php on line 837

I installed the full version of MarketPress and got the same error. Since the plugin works on my site, should I presume this is a plugin or theme conflict? Ufortunately this client does not want me to troubleshoot conflicts by turning off plugins. I’ve included theme and active plugin info below in case it may help anyone who has encountered this issue.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Thank you for being a WPMU Dev member!

    It appears to me that there may be a permissions problem on this tmp folder located at /home/content/84/3570584/tmp/

    Please try to permission the tmp folder 755 or 777 then testing again to see if you get the error and if you still get the error go for the next folder in the path but not further then content.

    Please let me know how this works out.

    Thank you for checking in, and sorry for not replying sooner. The fix for the error entailed creating a tmp sessions directory with full permissions as detailed here…

    Hopefully this may help anyone else who encounters the issue. It’s apparently common on Go Daddy accounts.

    Unfortunately I gave up on implementing MarketPress for this since notification emails were not getting sent and the site would become unresponsive during downloads. Whether this was due to a Go Daddy issue or plugin conflict I do no know. The site in question had lots of customization under the hood, and I wasn’t about to offer any more pro bono troubleshooting.

    Ah yeah, that would explain it. The error usually means permissions or its missing.

    Shame about the issue with getting MarketPress installed. But if it hada ton of customisations under the hood…… Well its hard to tell where the issue might lay.

    Well if they come back to you paying you cache (sorry cash) you deserve to implement MP then let us know, perhaps it might be something we can help with. :slight_smile:
