Membership and changing PayPal subscription to one-off payments

There may be a time where you want to change a subscription from a scheduled payment plan to a pay when your subscription ends style subscription. In this event it would be nice if we could just turn off paypalexpress and put on paypalsolo, and any payments from paypal (scheduled or not) will be accepted.

    Hi Marcus,

    I may have misunderstood the crux of your question in your original post. Have you taken a look at the PayPal Express – with Single Payments Gateway? It doesn’t involve a recurring subscription on PayPal’s end.

    Yes, that’s what I’m using at the moment, problem is I have some subscribers before I made the switch. Not a problem now as it’s yearly and its only a few weeks of subscriber signups, but in a year when the repeated charges occur, I don’t think the IPN notification will ever be accepted by the solo gateway (I think primarily due to the gateway return url).
