Migrate to WPMUDEV

I migrated using the Shipper plugin, from economiafacil.com.br to economiafacil.wpmudev.host

But I can not point the DNS to run economiafacil.com.br within the hosting of WPMUDEV

So I can not migrate my site economiafacil.com.br to WPMUDEV (I changed the nameserver from hostgator to cloudflare)

elliot.ns.cloudflare.com

liz.ns.cloudflare.com

But when I put the WPMUDEV records in the cloudflare to point the DNS, the site goes out of the air.

How should I proceed to run the economiafacil.com.br within WPMUDEV correctly?

    Hi Edu Silva,

    You’ll have to make sure to use your top-level domain in cloudflare ie economiafacil.com.br , and ensure the A record is added, which is the one mentioned for your site created in WPMU DEV Hosting panel under the “Domains” tab.

    Once done, switching the Cloudflare SSL to Full (strict), should ensure the website is pointed to your domain, and is loading fine.

    Hello Edu Silva

    In the screenshot of cloudfare, I can see the A record is set to 162.241.2.78 which is a hostgator IP. Did you change that IP to WPMU DEV IP? Please note, after changing to that IP you may need to wait some time to propagate, sometimes even up to 72 hours.

    Also, when you say “the site goes out of the air” – do you mean the site doesn’t load at all? Also, would you please make sure you are using full SSL, not the basic one?

    economiafacil.com.br & economiafacil.wpmudev.host

    Is the content duplicated in these two domains? Does this not harm in function of SEO etc?

    Or is it?

    How should I proceed now?

    That’s odd. In general, once the domain is pointed to our Host, and marking economiafacil.com.br as primary, it’ll ensure the domain is pointed to the economiafacil.wpmudev.host website

    So, when loading the economiafacil.wpmudev.host in the browser it should get redirected to economiafacil.com.br, which is the site hosted in WPMU DEV.

    But that doesn’t seem to be the case here. This could happen due to DNS not getting fully propagated. I ran a DNS check to double check, and I could notice it isn’t propagated fully:

    However, it was odd that the DNS status in the Hosting panel showed it’s working fine. I tried to re-add the economiafacil.com.br domain again, I could notice the DNS issue in the Hosting panel too.

    This can take up to 72 hours for the changes to get reflected, and clicking the “Recheck DNS” button should work.

    In the meanwhile, could you please share the screenshots of the changes done in the Cloudflare side, so that we could confirm if the changes done in there are correct too?

    In general, the steps required in Cloudflare side would be to add A record as shown in the example screenshot:

    [attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

    SSL should be set to Full(strict) in the Cloudflare side too. Also, make sure the Cloudflare Nameservers are what’s added in the nameserver of the economiafacil.com.br domain too.

    Could you please check whether there are still any instances of Hostgator IP in the Cloudflare side too?

    No need to make any changes, please check, and confirm whether the mentioned steps are done so that we could confirm whether there is anything being missed or not too. Please let us know how that goes.

    Hi Edu Silva,

    Thanks for sharing the screenshots. The settings do seem to be correct. However, the only issue what I could notice is that the wpmudev.host URL not redirecting to the primary domain which you have set.

    I have brought this into our hosting team’s attention, and they are currently going through it to see what could be causing this.

    Search Engines will only crawl Top Level Domains in our host, that would be economiafacil.com.br. So, you won’t have to worry about the economiafacil.wpmudev.host for SEO as the URL has a global robots.txt to disallow Search Engines in the host side.

    Will keep you posted once we get further feedback regarding the status of the redirection issue asap. Have a great weekend ahead.
