muldti db 2.8 compatible with wordpress 2.8.5.2?

Is multi db version 2.8 is compatible with new wordpress mu version 2.8.5.2?

It certainly should be compatible, if there are any issues we’ll look into it, but to be honest we always recommend against installing new releases until at least a week or two has passed.

I don’t believe that multiDB would have any impact on the upgrade all blogs functionality – that sounds like a bug in the core of MU…. another good reason not to upgrade to a new version for quite some time!

James, but it shouldn’t be a problem for not upgrade all blog, to my knowledge, things will be OK after users login to their accounts for the first time after the upgrade of wpmu right? For example, if a wpmu owner has like 300,000 members and accounts (for example), then it will take forever for the system to upgrade 300,000 blogs. This is why even though wpmu is not upgrading all blogs, nothing will be broken as long you have upgrade wpmu correctly right?

I prefer do upgrade manually all the time.

For Version 2.8.5, the database version (db_version in wp_options) remained at 11548

DB is not updated for this release, so MultiDB should be a non issue.

From a cursory glance at docs though, Donncha mentions there is a non-db stripslashes related script that needs to loop through each blog though, so you will need to run the upgade blogs script.

    Hi Guys,

Multi-DB 2.8.5 is now available. The get_blog_prefix() function was added in WPMU 2.8.5. Anyone running WPMU 2.8.5 or higher should upgrade to Multi-DB 2.8.5 (Just overwrite wp-content/db,php).

Note that there were no db changes in 2.8.5. So as Aaron mentioned, Multi-DB should not be an issue as far as upgrades are concerned.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

First up you’re hijacking a thread which is bad. Unless your problem is identical to a problem being discussed in a thread you *always* need to start a new one.

Second, the bolded text is the equivalent of shouting. It’s not needed

Can you please start a new thread and provide more information. All you provided us with is an error message. We have no idea if you’ve recently upgraded Multi-DB and now are experiencing problems or if you’re just now installing Multi-DB for the first time. If you’re just now installed it would be helpful to know the steps you took to install it.

    Thanks,

    Andrew
