Multi-DB Questions

Howdy,

I have some questions on Multi-DB plug-in. Here goes :

1) Does Edublogs, WP.com and other popular MU sites use Multi-DB?

2) Upto how many blogs can a normal WPMU installation handle and how many can Multi-DB handle?

3) What could possibly happen if I continue with my normal WPMU installation and I get a huge number of users like Edublogs or WP.com?

    Hiya,

    1) Does Edublogs, WP.com and other popular MU sites use Multi-DB?

    Edublogs does but wp.com does not.

    2) Upto how many blogs can a normal WPMU installation handle and how many can Multi-DB handle?

    A typical WPMU install could handle several tens of thousands ok without Multi-DB. With Multi-DB you’re good for millions of blogs.

    3) What could possibly happen if I continue with my normal WPMU installation and I get a huge number of users like Edublogs or WP.com?

    The longer you wait to switch to a multiple databases solution, the more time consuming it will be to switch.

    I’m repeating my question once again.

    What could possibly happen if I continue with my normal WPMU installation and I get a huge number of users like Edublogs or WP.com?

    Obviously the late I switch, the more time it will take.

    My question is “What could possibly happen”.
