Multi-site network is suddenly very slow. I am reopening a ticket that has been previously opened as the original ticket has not changed the performance of the site.
This is part of the original ticket.
“I need urgent help. It takes over 7 seconds before the site sends its first byte back according to your own tool. This happened overnight. When capacity is reached, performance degrades gradually. It’s not a “plan issue” as the site was working fine until recently.
– Woocommerce is only running on one sub site. I’ve never understood a single active instance of WC to be much of an issue on any multisite.
– All other sites are templates and seldom running (if at all). They are “template sites” that get duplicated when a client decides to create a site on the system. Since this is a startup, there is only one active site. It gets 20-40 visits per day.
– an identical staging site runs on my pre-historic yr old pentium win7 “junk” computer (powered by fat & stupid Devserver 17) without any issues…
I have attached the screenshot from your tool. Please note that this is NOT A HIGH TRAFFIC SITE.
The problem comes from sluggish response time from your server as clearly shown by testing through Query Console, GTtest as well as your own plugin.
Before I upgrade anything, I would like to see that this (fairly modest) existing multisite is capable of working at speed on your platform.
This ticket has been open for some time. My customers are leaving in droves and are calling me by phone to tell me the site is unusable.
I have had experiences similar to this in the past where query limits or other settings that get applied “overnight” have unforeseen effects on various clients. It’s seldom about bandwidth or CPUs. It’s about upgrades or changes that go wrong (in the night).
Whenever this have been resolved, it’s been by someone who takes the time to see what might have gone wrong.
Can you escalate this ticket please? If this issue cannot get resolved rapidly, I will need to seek hosting that can run a small network site effectively.
I would like to stay with your service as I like many things about it but it ultimately needs to work at this scale before I commit further to it.
Thank you in advance for having a closer look at this issue…”
