My storage get increased, I don't know why

My hosting storage space went from 7.9 to 12.3 today, what’s the reason? I turned on the Defender plugin last night was the only change on your hosting.

I want to know how to solve this and what I need to remove, as I want to add one more site to your hosting.

    Hello Emmanuel

Did you enable the Snapshot managed backup or regular snapshot ever? It looks like there are two large files in site/public_html/wp-content/uploads/snapshots folder. Those files are usually created by snapshot. Though, I don’t think you need snapshot as our hosting package comes with automatic backup

If you don’t want to keep that, you can use FTP, go to site/public_html/wp-content/uploads/snapshots folder and delete the files.

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,

    Hi,

Thanks for taking a look at this. I enabled managed backup before. But I don’t want the backup to go to local drive, only to the managed cloud server that is provided by WPMU Dev for Snapshot. I also setup for Google Drive. So just two locations, managed and Google, not local destination.

    Hello Emmanuel

I can still see big files in the snapshot folder:

[attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

    and

[attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

Would you please delete the entire snapshot folder? Download the files on your desktop first to take a backup.

It always save in the local drive first. Then it start sending them to drive and our cloud, and once it's uploaded only then it gets deleted from the local server. So, for certain time it stays on the local drive.

However, as long you are hosting, we take a daily automatic backup of your site so you are entirely safe. In that case, you don't need to use snapshot, so you can keep it deactivated.

Hope it helps! Please feel free to ask more questions if you have any.

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,

    Ash

    Hi Emmanuel,

Just to make sure. Let me know what time frame the storage limit goes down.

I’m afraid, I’m not sure whether I understand your query, could you please explain a bit about what exact you meant by “time from the storage limit goes down” ? There isn’t any such limit other than the 10GB limit for each site allowed.

Please advise if I’m missing anything. Have a nice day.

    Regards,

    Nithin
