The new marketpress is causing my site to drag down in the mud. it is loading crazy slow now. I recently ran a p3 test, and will include the results now. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Hello Brandon,

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

I’m not experiencing similar issue on my test sites but the test results that you included indeed point at MarketPress and also my sandbox test may not make a good comparison here as I’m using pretty “bare” setup on a non-production server.

That said, I’d like to take a closer look at your setup and run some more tests in order to investigate the issue on your side. Would you mind granting me a support access to your site using our WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin?

To do so, please follow this guide:

    Best regards,

    Adam

    Hi Untitled Link adam,

I have granted support access. sorry its so late, I never know how quickly you guys will get back and I had to step away from my computer. thank you for your help in advance. If this is not a marketpress problem that would be great, but everything changed with the last upgrade I made so I am a little skeptical. Any help you could provide would be awesome.

    Hello @bat97e,

I hope you are well today.

I can see that your site is loading very slow. Specially product listing page. I tried to replicate your issue on my end by importing all of your products to my sandbox site but failed to do so. I tested Marketpress with wordpress’s default twentyfifteen theme and I noticed that marketpress is taking 48% of average load time on my end but its okay( its kind of big product so this much load is understandable ) as my site’s average loading time was less than 4-5 seconds. Having this said, can you test with default twentyfifteen theme one more time ? And which version you were using prior to update ?

Furthermore to know average query execution time and number of query gets executed on your end for simple page, I’ve installed Query Monitor( Currently Disabled ) and got to know that there are plenty of queries are being fired for simple page. Furthermore there are dozens of plugins installed on your end which may be using lot of memory so if its okay to you can you test Marketpress after disabling all of other plugin with default twentyfifteen theme ?

This will help us to understand and leverage context of plugin or theme conflict in process of solving your issue.

Let me know how it goes with suggested test.

    Cheers,

    Milan

Additionally, I do want to restate that I was using all of these plugins previously without any problem. it is only since I have updated the site that these speed issues have become a problem. I understand it maybe a difficult problem to identify but it would seem that something that wasn’t a problem before has become a problem now.

This was the reason I waited months before updating the market press plugin. each time I tried it would mess up the whole site, so I would go back to the old version of the plugin. I have now spent the last 2-3 weeks fixing problems resulting from this update.

I have already removed a few plugins without any difference in the speed so far.

I will let you know when I get the chance to do these tests.

    thanks

When I had all of my plugins disabled and the twenty sixteen theme installed everything loaded faster. But still not great. I basically did everything and it still seems not very fast. There may be a conflict now with this update for my theme that I am using which is very frustrating, but even when I deactivated every plugin besides market press and changed to twenty sixteen it still was slow.

What theme would you recommend that is customizable that I could duplicate the look of the site, that works well with marketpress?

    Hey Brandon

Sorry about the extreme delay here, it somehow slipped through the gaps.

I’d like to take a look at specific queries that are dragging the site down ! Can you install this plugin and post any weird / long running queries in your site.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/query-monitor/

Let us know if you still need help with this. Keeping my eyes open on this.

Thank you for being a WPMU DEV member and have a fantastic day!

    Cheers

    Hi Jude,

I went back to an older version of the marketpress plugin, because my client couldn;t wait anymore. so I can;t sorry. All I know is that the installation at the time cause load times to get to 15 seconds.

    thanks

    Brandon
