Password Log-In Issues!

I need some help here please! Everytime a member signs-up and creates a user name & password they are unable to log-in with that passord, also the activation key they are emailed does not work. Then they have to click on forgot password go to their email click on a following link to confirm this is ok to do, go back to their email and retreieve a new difficult password to log-in! Once they have logged in no one seems to know where to go to change this password to something more memorable? why is this happening? And how do I get it to stop? Thanks!

    Hiya,

    You’ve posted this in the Plugin Support forum and added a theme as a tag. However, you did not mention a theme or a plugin in your post. It’s best to post this kind of issue in one of the discussion forums.

    As for the problem, have you removed all plugins except BP to see if it’s a plugin causing the issue?

    No this is a complete seperate issue. This is just when members sign-up. This is not all pertainting to creating a blog or pay 2 blog. Some of the users haven’t created blogs at all but had this issue with the password. And all 39 users who did create a blog not only had password issues but now are unable to even activate their blog due to the pay pal error. The only plug-in I ever plugged in was pay2 blog. Are you suggesting I remove it and start fresh and it should solve both problems?

    And I apologize if I’m all over the forums but I have one person telling me to seperate them and begin a new discussion in another forum and then telling me to keep it all in one place. So I’m a bit confused and don’t know what to do anymore? To my knowledge (which isn’t as great as yours) these were to seperate issues. Sorry bout that. :slight_smile:

    You should start a new thread for new issues. However, you should also start the new threads in the correct forum. Unless you’re posting about a particular plugin a thread doesn’t belong in the plugin support forum :wink:

    I’m suggesting you temporarily remove all plugins other than BP to see if one of them is the culprit. I never said that it will solve the problem. It’s just one of the troubleshooting steps

    O thank you. But now I seem to have resolved the paypal issue, thank you for that! But members are still having password issues when they go to log-in so wouldn’t this be a magazine theme issue? If not please let me know which category it would better suit because I think thats where I’m getting confused.
