Plugins & Error message

I installed WP MU 2.6.5 & used some WPMU Dev Premium plugins successfully but when I try to install the following WPMU Dev Premium plugins – Blog Types, Invite, SEO & Upgrades, I get the following error message:

“1 archive had warnings but no fatal errors”

The site goes dead.

How do I rectify this?

I’ve installed mostly new plugins -Default Theme, Admin message, Mass Emailer from this site one by one, checking that the site works after each plugin, and it is fine

If I try to instal any of these plugins Blog Types, Invite, SEO & Upgrades,

    the error goes off.

    Hi

I see it after extracting the WP zip file for the plugin.

For example with the Blog Types plugin:

    Archive: /home/myfoldername/public_html/myfoldername/mu-plugins/86127674_blog-types-2.0.1[1].zip

    inflating: blog-types.php

    inflating: blog-types-config-sample.php

    replace changelog.txt? [y]es, [n]o, [A]ll, [N]one, [r]ename: NULL

    (assuming [N]one)

1 archive had warnings but no fatal errors.

The poster is uploading the zip file to their webspace and unzipping them file within their space on the server. They’ve not reached the install step. The unzip process is trying to overwrite a previously unzipped file.

Best bet would be to unzip the file one at a time locally on your desktop, review the readme (or other instructions included) file, upload the proper file to the correct location as noted in the readme file, and continue with the install as noted in the instructions.

    Hope this helps,

*sigh* and in this case all it’s telling you is that it didn’t overwrite the readme.txt file.

    it’s a non issue really.

Although you should really double-check the readme *before* installing like that on the server, as some of the plugins here have files that do not all go in the mu-plugins folder, but very specific places.
