problems with plugin activation upon default

I am using shopp for a wordpress MU site I am developing. I know this is not a wpdev premium plugin but I am not sure if I am having a problem with the plugin, WP itself, or my supporter plugin, so maybe someone can help!

The plugin is set to be activated gloablly and by default when a new user signs up. However when a new site is created it isnt shown in the admin are right away. It takes a couple times of refreshing the page and logging in and out before it finally becomes visible and usable by the user. I cant tell if it a problem with it being activated, or if it gets activated upon sign up it just doesn’t show up for some reason.

Can anyone help me please? Any insight as to what might be causing this and how I can fix it?

Thanks

    Hiya,

Have you removed (temporarily) the Supporter plugin just to rule it out?

Has the plugin always behaved this way? I’m wondering if it has some kind of install routine that has to run before it shows up in the admin panel. A lot of install routines are triggered by page hits so if that’s the case then it wouldn’t show up on the first page load.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

I’ve played with shopp, and Andy’s right, it’s installing its DB entries on first load.

I will caution you as well, that you’re going to have all KINDS of nightmares trying to use it with MU.

Oh and PS: The people that run that are beyond asses. Take a look at this exchange they had with one of their "customers" on their support board:

    http://forums.shopplugin.net/topic/fresh-install-404-errors

Basically one of the authors talks about MU, and how shopp works with it, and how he’s coming up with special licensing for it, etc. etc.

So someone reads that, purchases the plugin, and finds it doesn’t work with MU.

Their support goes in and says hey it was months ago when they said it works with MU, it doesn’t work with it anymore (most would assume it would work even better after months I would think), sorry about your luck, and no refund for you.

    BEYOND pathetic.

(Wow I don’t usually rant this much, 2nd major rant in as many days. All these new site launches are taking their toll on me I think, haha. Maybe I need to step away and play with some of my vbulletin installs for a few days.)
