[Shipper Pro] Shipper > WARNING: Unable to change memory limit

Hi,

I install Shipper to new WordPress installation.

Immediately in Shipper log there is:

27. 9. 2019 9:31 – WARNING: Unable to change memory limit. Currently it is 256M
27. 9. 2019 9:31 – WARNING: set_time_limit is disabled or not available.

Is it a problem? What set_time_limit value Shipper wants?

Thanks,
Jiri

    Hi Jiri

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

The migration process is quite “resource intensive” so Shipper is trying to “allow itself” to use as much memory as available on server and set “unlimited” (so limited only by the “ultimate” server configuration) execution time for PHP.

This is because these limits are often pretty low “per site” even though server/hosting account do provide more resources. It’s not always possible though due to server restrictions. This seem to be the case but it’s not necessarily something to be worried about.

256M is usually sufficient memory amount unless the site is really very complex. The max_execution_time might be an issue if it’s less than 180 seconds though so you might want to check your PHP configuration and if it’s any less than this, try increasing it (you should be able to do this via cPanel or with host support assistance usually).

If the migration doesn’t work despite that, let us know and we’ll investigate the case.

    Best regards,
    Adam
