    Hiya,

It’s very easy to copy an extra space when copy/pasting a password so I bet that’s what happened. Basically you mean to copy ‘abc123’ but copied ‘abc123 ‘. Note the space at the end. Since it’s a blank space you tend not to notice it.

Anyway, it also sounds like you have a problem with mail being sent. That’s problem you need to bring up with your host.

As for getting into WPMU, do this:

    1) Use PHPMyAdmin (or equivalent) to access your database

    2) Go to the wp_users table and find the row for the admin user

    3) Click on the ‘edit’ link for that row

    4) Go to this site and enter a password into the box

    5) Hit the submit button and copy the md5 hash

    6) Replace the contents of the user_pass field with the md5 hash

    7) Save the changes to the table row and login

    Thanks,

    Andrew

Alternatively your email system may be blocking your email from being delivered. Worth signing up using a gmail account to see if you received the email — just in case.

With password I also check using a different web browser because sometimes it is an issue with your stored password.

    Sue,

    Thanks for your input also.

I have activated the gmail on the domain prior to this and there is nothing there either.

But I did get a new machine, so it may be a problem with a stored password although I did not tell it to put it in my keychain.

I am using safari, if that makes a difference

I will look and see on the control panel if I can find that it has stored it somewhere
