    Hello Benji

I hope you are doing great today

Would you please try to replicate the ossue again, by enabling SmartCrawl and editing the homepage metas. But this time, please try to check if there is JavaScript errors in the console of the homepage.

To view the console of your browser:

    1. Right click anywhere in the page.

    2. Click inspect the element.

    3. Click the console tab.

[attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

And let me know what errors do you see in there if found.

    Thanks,

    Majid

    Hello there Benji,

hope you’re doing good today!

I’ve just tried to replicate this in a test site of mine, using the same theme and Revolution Slider as in your site, but I wasn’t able to. Even after activating SmartCrawl and changing homepage’s meta title and description, my test slider was keep working…

I wasn’t able to locate any slider in your homepage currently though, so I’ve tried during my tests to enable it with two ways:

    1) select the “Front Page” template and my rev-slider in the Front Page Header Settings -> Header Background of the homepage’s custom meta fields of theme

    2) directly in the page’s content, using revslider shortcode

Is there some other kind of setup that I should follow, trying to replicate this?

    Please advise!

As long as current state of installation is broken, then also restore your backup, so I can better inspect your setup.

    Warm regards,

    Dimitris

    Hi,

I have restored the backup so you can better see the homepage slider. You can set the slider in the box on the edit page section called ‘Front Page Header Settings’. The problem is whenever I update the info in the SmartCrawl meta box it clears everything in the Front Page Header Settings and vice versa.

    Thanks,

    Benji

    Hello there Benji,

hope you’re doing good and please excuse my late response here, some personal issues kept me away for couple of days.

Also, please don’t bump your thread with multiple questions about the progress of issue, as this will rather lower down the thread in our internal queue.

Having said that, I’ve made a second round of tests, using University theme and the following plugins: https://monosnap.com/file/4TdaypSGNpBSOyTtOcuhoGIbjCZovU

and I was still unable to reproduce this issue, as any changes in SmartCrawl meta title and description, don’t remove the “Front Page Header Settings”.

    SmartCrawl changes: https://monosnap.com/file/cHOe0hZoz4MuGKwVbA4XaujaIsfXdL

Front Page Header Settings after changes:

    Frontend is working good: https://monosnap.com/file/bZdZV34YFwNWbVZr0Ykn78ajKrsSzq

Having said that, seems that this is some kind of more complicated conflict in your end. For that, a full conflict test should be made. Concept of this test is:

    1) deactivate all plugins apart from the ones I’ve used during my tests (SmartCrawl, WPMUDEV Dashboard and the ones “required” by the theme)

    2) clear/purge and deactivate any involving caches

    3) check again if saving meta title and description, messes with the “Front Page Header Settings”.

    4) If not, start activating the remaining plugins, one by one this time, making a new test each time with meta values, until you reproduce initial issue.

If this isn’t possible to be done in this live site, then you can either:

    1) create a staging environment, meaning a complete and exact copy of this installation into another location/folder in the same server, using a separate database

    2) use a handy plugin like Health Check https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/

which allows you to deactivate plugins only for admin users

I’m looking forward for your results!

    Warm regards,

    Dimitris
