    Hi Stefan

    I hope you’re well today!

SmartCrawl is already using/supporting structured data markup – as mentioned in the doc that you shared – is also a valid way to adding such image/thumbnail.

By default it will use an image that’s already set as a featured image for a post.

On the “SmartCrawl Pro -> Schema -> Advanced” page under “Default image” option you can also set a “fallback” image to be used if there’s no feature image set for a given post/page.

Additionally, you can also customize it even more by setting up custom schema types (that applies not only to image but also to many other aspects of information about the site that Google and others would get from schema). Here are additional information on this:

    Kind regards,

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for your quick response. The features in SmartCrawl are great. I already configured the basic ones. Maybe it is a matter of time until the image shows up in the Google search. I just wondered because neither the meta-tag nor the PageMap info shows up in the source code of the page. I had a look at his competitors website which shows a preview image in the Google search (https://www.example.com/search?q=zahnarzt+moosburg) On his competitors website there is also no meta-tag »thumbnail« nor PageMap.

I will now wait and see if anything changes in the future on Google.

    Best,
    Stefan
