[SmartCrawl Pro] Site crawl cooldown timer

1

Currently if you try to do multiple site crawls subsequently, you get the following message:

Engines cooling down. It might take a moment before we are ready for another crawl.

Would it be possible to provide a cooldown timer for the next crawl? Sometimes a crawl report will point out an error, but we have to wait an arbitrary amount of time before being able to test again to find out if our fixes were successful.

Hummingbird does this with the performance scans, and it’s useful to know how long to wait to scan again.

Kris I’ve been trying to re-run a crawl for 34 minutes now, I thought it might be a 30 minute cooldown but evidently not. Until this new feature gets put into place, could you find out what the cooldown period actually is so we know how long we have to wait? Thanks

    PROBLEM is still the CLOCK!
The “Engines cooling down. It might take a moment before we are ready for another crawl.” is still 7HOURS ahead of my site time… so the cool down is 7+ hours!! I mentioned this for other plugins that have the same issue, and they were to all be fixed?

    Hello Mike !

    Hope you are doing well!

Although, there was a promise to add the timer to the cooldown button, I’m afraid that it didn’t really stay out in the plugin till this release due to some difficulties.

However, 7 hours of cooling down is too much for sure. Since this is a feature request ticket, would you be able to create a ticket and share the issue and more details in that ticket so we check it further for you please?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    Youssef

Well it must have just been timing. Tried that a second time and got the frustrating cool down message. I guess I am off to find another solution. This is useless. Wishing I hadnt paid for a subscription now. Too many unfixed bugs in theire plugins

    Hello Leo Ashcraft ,

Hope this message finds you well.

Any work around for this? Its a deal killer for me. trying to troubleshoot. I cant wait over an hour to try again! How long is the timer. Just tell us where the integer is in the code so we can change it, Really beyond annoying

We understand your concerns here but as of this moment, there is no workaround that can be suggested. However, kindly note there are some discussion of this within the team the same as adding the cooldown timer. Since I know this is important to you, I will surely pass to them your thoughts about this and add this as another request to the existing task.

We are sorry if we fell short of your expectations. Kindly note as previously mentioned, this certain feature haven’t pushed thru yet due to some technical complexities as well as other factors such as other priority and critical tasks at hand. Appreciate your understanding with this.

With regards to any other unfixed bug, we would like to help you as much as we can. However as this is a ticket for feature request and so we don’t deviate from the purpose of it, can you please create a separate support ticket so we can check if in case there might be a fix or a workaround that can be suggested?

    Thank you!

    Best Regards,
    Jasper

Engines cooling down. It might take a moment before we are ready for another crawl.!!!!
This is a problem!!! i get potential errors on the first crawl, (“We recommend fixing them up to ensure you aren’t penalized by search engines”) go and fix the issues – – but can’t run another crawl to verify the fix!!!! How useless is that???

    Hi Mike ,

I do understand you and have already passed your feedback to our SmartCrawl team’s attention to check whether these improvements could be considered in future updates.

At the moment, I’m afraid there isn’t any exact ETA we could provide. Sorry for any inconvenience due to that.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin
