SmartCrawl SEO Checkup not working

SmartCrawl Seo Checkup not working, getting the following error:

Your domain does not appear to be publicly accessible on the Internet (Operation timed out after 15001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received - 28). We can only scan publicly accessible websites.

Ran plugin conflict test, but still the same issue.

    G’day Patricia!

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue!

I can see that the site is generally loading very slowly from different parts of the world.

I ran a Google PageSpeed Insights scan through https://developers.example.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ and the site got 0/100 points. So that’s as low as it can get.

Also, scanning through https://www.uptrends.com/tools/uptime shows the site seems to be inaccessible from multiple locations.

This can in fact make SmartCrawl to think the site is offline. Our SmartCrawl service waits for a response for a certain amount of time. If the site doesn’t respond before that time limit, the SmartCrawl checkup service assumes the site is unreachable.

From what I can see in the results of the scans, there is a large amount of assets (CSS, JS) that are loaded along with each page view. This can impact response time. Also, the Divi theme is quite resource-heavy by itself.

This can be fixed by enabling optimisation and caching options in Hummingbird. Also, using Smush to compress images and serve them from our CDN may help in this case.

Hope this helps with the issue you are facing. Please tell me if you need any more guidance with the enabling and setting up the Hummingbird and Smush features I mentioned.

    cheers,

    Pawel
