Smush Pro 502 error on admin-ajax.php

Bulk smush doesn’t seem to want to Smush. When we hit the bulk smush button, it seems to start but goes nowhere. In chrome console we see a 502 error instantly for admin-ajax.php.

    Hi Peter,

    It seems that on staging the 502 error is showing up as soon as the Smush page is accessed, however the logs are not telling us much what could be causing this.
    There are over 60.000 thumbnails on your site but that shouldn’t be really affecting the plugin that much.

    We have forwarded this to our developers to investigate it further and shed some light on what might be going on.

    I tried investigating the issue further but the logs that I can access at the moment don’t provide much information from the server itself so it’s unclear what exactly is causing the 502 error.

    Would you be able to share WP Engine login details so I could check the server logs and have a look at the database for its data consistency?
