[Smush Pro] Migrate images back from a CDN to be able to use Smush

I’m using alicdn.com to serve my images. Can you suggest a method to get the images back on my site and fixing all the image URLs so I can use Smush?

    Hi Lee ,

Hope you are doing good and thanks for reaching out to us.

Auto Upload Images is a plugin that can help you import images from an external source. This plugin searches for image URLs that exist in a post and automatically upload and import external images to the WordPress upload directory and add images to the media library and then replace new image URLs with old URLs.

    Find more details here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/auto-upload-images/

If you have any further queries, please let us know.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

Thanks but you must not have used this plugin.
This plugin only uploads images when you save a post. I have 200 products and thousands of images. Need something that I can command not edit every post to get the images.
      Any other ideas?

    Hi Lee ,

I am afraid, I was unable to find another plugin that can help you with this in on go.

I know, it can be tedious if you have a lot of content. Luckily, there’s a quick way to update all posts with external images. Simply go to Posts » All Posts page and then click on the Screen Options button at the top.

[attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

You need to increase the number to 200 in the ‘Number of items per page field’ field and click on the Apply button.

WordPress will reload the page, and this time it will show 200 posts at a time. Next, you need to select all your posts and then select Edit under the bulk actions menu.

[attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

After that, you need to click the Apply button. WordPress will show you a quick edit box with all the selected posts. You just need to click on the Update button, and WordPress will update all your posts.

Remember, don’t change any of the settings in the bulk edit settings that you see. You just need to click Update.

This process will trigger the plugin to check all selected posts and import external images as it finds them.

    I hope this helps you!

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

Thanks for thinking outside the box here but after duplicating the site and attempting to use the plugin I was not able to get it to work as expected. I have since found another method inside one of the plugins used to gather the images in the first place. So I am closing ticket. thank you again.
