[Smush Pro] Request for AI Image Enhancer

0

I’d like to request an AI image enhancement feature for our WooCommerce plugin. Key functionalities would include automatic image quality improvements, background removal, and upscaling. This feature should also optimize images for brightness, contrast, and SEO, while providing responsive formats for different devices. Ideally, it would allow batch-processing of product images to improve user engagement and conversion rates.

    Hi Abhinav Khatri

    I hope you’re well today!

That sounds like quite a cool and useful tool though may be a bit complicated to implement. There are already great AI’s for image enhancement/manipulation but adding one to Smush would mean having to implement it via 3rd-party API and usually that would also involve additional costs for you as end-user.

But that’s just a side-note and it doesn’t mean it’s not doable. Let’s keep this feature request ticket open and see if other Members will vote for it and what would be their feedback.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

      Hi Abhinav Khatri

Could you clarify which options you’re referring to?

I wasn’t actually referring to WordPress plugins. By saying “AIs” I meant other tools such as, for example, more and more photo editing software having such capabilities built-in (e.g. Luminar, UpPhoto, capabilities of AIs such as Dall-E 3 and similar).

Still, building such solution “from scratch” requires quite a lot of resources (on tech, research and development level) which would require time and increase costs. Alternative is to incorporate some 3rd-party solution solution via API for that – which is doable but can also require quite some development and additional costs.

With that being said, I am not saying it cannot be done, of course. It surely is an interesting idea and could make a really useful feature that would make plugin really stand-out on the market. I’m just not in a position to make any promises at the moment.

By keeping this feature request open we can let other Members support it, vote for it and provide their feedback. If community shows that there’s a demand for certain solution, we always take that into account.

      Best regards,
      Adam
