[Smush Pro] WPBakery Gallery conflict

When I activate Smush CDN, I notice some images in the WP Bakery gallery disappear.

    Hi Doris ,

On further checking I could notice the following error getting generated when I try to load the Smush CDN image URLs:

    Error 503 Backend fetch failed
    Backend fetch failed

    Guru Meditation:
    XID: 764680299

Such errors occur if there are CDN activated other than Smush CDN causing a conflict. I could notice you have Cloudflare CDN enabled in your website. Could you please temporarily disable the CDN in Cloudflare side, and then check how the images load once Smush CDN is enabled?

Please do let us know how that goes so that we could check further if needed. Have a nice day ahead.

    Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi Doris ,

I could notice such links in the source code when I check the homepage:
    https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery-mousewheel/3.1.13/jquery.mousewheel.min.js

It needs to be disabled in the Cloudflare side not in WP side. If your website isn’t connected with Cloudflare, then it might be one of the existing plugins adding such URL or causing a conflict.

Is it possible for you to temporarily disable all the plugins except WPMU DEV Dashboard and Smush Pro, and then check whether the images load fine once you enable Smush CDN?

This would give a better idea regarding where exactly the conflict is, and see what could be done further. Please do create a backup before running a conflict test as mentioned above.

Please let us know how that goes so that we could check further.

    Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi Nithin,

Are you sure I should do that?

    I have googled it: https://www.example.com/search?q=jquery-mousewheel/3.1.13/jquery.mousewheel.min.js&sxsrf=ACYBGNQsNQLTJKEYX0qnJbKiURRWEJ0Uhw:1571297852798&ei=PBqoXYatMLCQmwWYpoaABQ&start=10&sa=N&ved=0ahUKEwiGu-jS5KLlAhUwyKYKHRiTAVAQ8NMDCJAB&biw=1280&bih=913

I do not think that will solve anything as I would have to disable WP Bakery itself as this script is apparently baked into masonry grid and fancybox functionalities of WP Bakery, enabling seamless cross-browser mouse-wheel functionality.

    Doris

    Hi Doris ,

Are you sure I should do that?

As stated in my previous reply, if the mentioned link isn’t due to having a connection with Cloudflare, then most probably it has to do with a plugin conflict.

503 error seen with Smush CDN occurs due to conflicts and in general, it occurs when there are conflicting CDN, since you could confirm there isn’t any CDN connected most probably it would be any one of the plugins. So if you think whether it’s possible to disable all the plugins except WPM DEV Dashboard and Smush Pro and then enable Smush CDN it would give a better idea whether it’s a conflict or some issue within the API side.

Maybe you could also keep WP Bakery plugin active too? Would that help? If you think running a conflict test as above isn’t possible in your Live site, is it possible to set up a staging site?

Asking your hosting provider to set up a staging(clone) would help in troubleshooting the issue further. I’m also bringing this into our developers attention to see whether there is anything specific that he could pinpoint too, will keep you posted once I get further feedback.

Please do let us know how you are looking forward to troubleshooting this issue further so that we could check further if needed.

    Hi Doris ,

On bringing this further into our developer’s attention, we checked whether the Shield plugin enabled would be causing a conflict in your system.

So I quickly deactivated the Firewall in Shield plugin side to see whether it help. However, on checking further we could notice the website started to load the images fine now with Smush CDN enabled. On further troubleshooting, this might be more of a temporary API issue, and not specific to Shield plugin. The firewall is already activated back in Shield plugin, and the Smush CDN does seem to load fine too.

I have temporarily disabled Smush CDN since it’s a live site, please do activate Smush CDN, and check whether the image loads fine on your side too.

    Hi Nithin,
I ßm disabling Shield & testing, than again enabiling it and testing…. I can not reproduce your success. Images are only 100% served when CDN is disabled. On my side enabling and disabling Shield Security Plugin had not effect.

    Hi Doris ,

You don’t have to disable the Shield plugin anymore, Smush CDN should work irrespective of that. This is the screenshot on my side when I enable Smush CDN:

All the URLs are serving via Smush CDN. I’m tested via Chrome, and Firefox browser and could notice the images are loading fine on my side.

It’s odd that the images aren’t still loading on your side. Could you please clear the browser cache, and then check how the image loads on your browser? I have kept Smush CDN enabled for now.

Please check the following link on how to clear browser cache:
