Snapshot Importing Single Site to Multi-Site Archive: Pending

I need to move my single sites into my multi-site cluster and snapshot pro seems like the best/complete way to move all of my settings. The wordpress core export/import process is successful (only incompletely) for a portion of the content but, due to some long reported xml filesize issue quickly issues 500 errors, requires me to keep clicking "import" until I don't get the error anymore.

The problem with snapshot is this: I'm trying to move a site from the domain https://tsminsurance.com to http://tsminsurance.videaris.com and then remap it back to https://tsminsurance.com. I get as far as importing the snapshot from its home server to the multi-site server and editing it as a snapshot to belong to the already existing site tsminsurance.videaris.com. Past this part though, I cannot restore the snapshot and I am not sure why. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi @Jonathan,

I hope had been good today!

The Network have the same plugins and theme (installed and network activated) of the source file? If not, make sure, before restore the backup.

However, I would like to test it, so, I will ask you the FTP access to both websites (source and destination).

Please send it privately through our contact form:

For some reason, I’ve managed to get partway on solving the problem. If I import the snapshot zip from an s3 bucket rather than the file system, the restore option becomes available under the archive listing.

However, I have run into a new problem which is the PHP Max Execution Timeout variable when restoring which is giving me a 504 gateway error. I’ll have to change this setting when I get home and will update this thread when I come to the next step.

Success! As far as I can tell, everything imports. However, I cannot seem to be able to log into the subsite. Any attempt returns me to the same page. Additionally, the site schema seems to be broken. Login pages for the snapshotted sites turn into an endless loop of redirects :slight_frown:

The solution to the problem I had, if anyone was wondering, was exporting the snapshot from its destination to an S3 bucket via the destinations tab in Snapshot. I then imported the Snapshot to its destination server from the S3 bucket. Only then would the restore button appear.

I could not log into the subdomains because of an app version discrepancy of WP Simple Firewall between destination and source servers.

A misconfiguration of Multi-Domains prevented me from viewing my site dashboards.

Changing themes in a site that had been imported required me to use Live Preview rather than Activate as a theme option.

I was getting a mixed content error because the Social Marketing plugin has a bug that includes unsecured content calls to social media files.

Thanks everyone for helping and I hope that this thread is helpful to someone in the future.
