    Hey there @David,

    Hope you’re well today

Could you please tell me whether you want to migrate your existing multisite or subsite of your multisite or single WordPress site to your existing WordPress multisite so that i can guide you accordingly?

Find information about taking back up and restoring it using Snapshot plugin as described on the following pages.

    Hey again @David,

The option to select destination appears once you click on the restore button second time, please see screenshot.

Are you getting the same options or you're not being able to see that?

    Please advise,

    Bojan

    Hi Bojan,

I don’t get the screen you sent me only the 2 screens i sent before.

I don’t know if its related but i cannot get the plugin to run on a site installed in multi site configuration. so i run it from the network admin > dashboard > Snapshots

once i click restore i get the lower screen that from the tow i enclose (in one file)…

    am i missing something?

    Hi Bojan,

I’m not sure how this happened.

I guess I tried so many times to restore and it didn’t happen.

the folder I’m trying to restore it to is /y2

is there a way to reset this Archives: Pending?

please note I have pulled the snapshot from another site on the same server that is not in the multisite…

    Thanks,

    David

    Hey @David,

Sorry if my explanation wasn't clear enough. Can you please try doing the following:

    1. On the site where you created this backup, please go to Snapshots -> All Snapshot and download the snapshot, see screenshot.

    2. Access site files on the site where you want to restore snapshot and upload downloaded file to /wp-content/uploads/snapshots/

    3. On the site where you want to restore the snapshot, go to Snapshots -> Import and click on Scan/Import Snapshots

    4. Once the snapshot is imported, try to restore it.

The upload path/destination folder (/wp-content/uploads/snapshots/) is what I was referring to in my previous post.

    Best regards,

    Bojan

    ok,

I will try this later on today (PST time zone) and will let you know.

BTW I didn’t think I have to copy the files to the local folders just point to the location of the snapshot package from the original site that is on the same server. which I did.

    Thanks,

    David

    Hi Bojan,

i followed your steps and now i`m getting the error "Site URL: Error on blog lookup. Try again"

i think this is related to the structure of the url that is display on the page:

    instead of: http://demo.dazonet.com/yizkor2/yizkor2/y2

    it should be: http://demo.dazonet.com/yizkor2/y2

I'm not sure why snapshot provide the link as http://demo.dazonet.com/yizkor2/yizkor2/ (see enclosed screenshot)

    Thanks,

    David

    Hey @David,

You can select the destination site by entering blog ID and then clicking on the lookup. So by entering 2 there proper destination will be selected, see screenshot.

With that being said there are some errors when trying to restore snapshot, I'm assuming there is something wrong with the actual backup you created. As there is no space on your server I added dropbox destination but am unable to import snapshot to your multisite.

Can you please import the following snapshot I've created there please, you can find it here.

Let me know when you do so we can try to restore that one.

    Best regards,

    Bojan

    Hi Bojan,

    thanks for the clarification.

    here is what i got.

    1. instead of typing the website path type the site ID. that resolve the identifying the path issue.

    2. import from Dropbox didn’t work

    3. import from another folder on the server works but i cannot run the install

    4. copy the zip snapshot to the destination snapshot folder manually and restore seems to do the trick

I’m not sure why the import and restore doesn’t work as intended

BTW i cleaned lots of files from my server and freed lots of room for this…

    Please advise,

    Thanks,

    David

    Hi Bojan,

here are the steps I did

    1. on a stand alone website create a snapshot (successfully)

    2. on the destination website (stand alone or multisite) install the theme to work with (same as original website)

    3. import the snapshot by pointing to the folder on the same server

    4. successful import

    5. view all snapshot (have only one in my list)

    6. click edit to edit the snapshot destination

    8. click change to change the path for restore

    9. enter the destination site ID

    10. click the button to look up the destination

    11. save the snapshot

    12. click restore

    13. Snapshot Item Archive pane open

    14. the restore button to start the restore is not available

the status is ” Archives: Pending”

if I copy the snapshot manually to the destination snapshot folder I do get the restore link in step #14 above.

I do however have to enter the site id again in the Restore Snapshot pane to enable the restore snapshot button

I do get an error message “table_set for [ylo_commentmeta] not found TABLES” after the restore starts.

    any thoughts.

    Thanks,

    David

    Hey David,

So sorry for such a delay on this! We’ve recently had one of our newer devs take over Snapshot, which is why this ticket got missed.

We’ve let the new dev know; however, in the meantime I’ll investigate as well to hopefully speed this up for you

Just to be clear, you are still wanting to import your single site onto your subsite /y2?

I tried logging in with the single site credentials you sent Bojan earlier; however, I wasn’t able to login. Can you double check that user? I’ve just replied to the credentials email you sent it too so you can just reply back to that with the updated info

Look forward to hearing back! Talk to you soon. Hope you had a good weekend.

    Cheers,

    Tyler
