Staging Site Capabilities of Wpmudev Hosting (beta)

I was looking around at various hosts and I found something that SiteGround offers that I was wondering if your hosting solution has. Basically, my theme is kind of buggy and I'm always afraid to update it in the event it breaks the site. I know you have a staging option, but is it possible to make changes/updates on the staging site and then have the ability to push those changes *easily* over to the live site?

The description on SiteGround was this: "Making changes on your site has never been easier. Make a copy of your site in a click, work on it, and then push the changes live with our staging tool."

    Hi Matt,

Yes, this is possible within our Manage Hosting. Once the Staging site is created, you should see the option to push the changes from Staging to Live, as shown in the following screenshot:

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further query. Have a great day ahead.

Thank you for getting back to me. I understand that the initial site can be built in the staging environment and then pushed to live, that is kind of what I’m looking for. I’m just wondering about after that initial launch, is it possible to somehow sync the live site and staging site or pull in the latest live site to staging so I can make changes (update the theme, update WordPress, add plug-ins, try to improve performance, etc) to the staging site and then once my testing is complete, push out that changed staging site to the live site? Thanks!

    Hello Matt

On Nithin’s screenshot you can see the second option is Reset Staging Environment. Once you reset, it will sync with production site, means the production site will be copied into staging site. And yes, then you can make changes, test and confirming, push to live

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,

    Ash
