Staging to Production on Multisite

Hey guys,

Could I check with you on your hosting. If I have a multisite on staging and wish to push a subsite changes from staging to the production without affecting the rest of the multisite, how do I do it?

    I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

    Currently you can push only entire site from staging to production or from production to staging. It’s “on a server level” and there’s no way of knowing what’s actually changed (like plugins settings, if they use custom tables etc) so a full database and file set needs to be pushed.

    That said, I have asked our hosting team if it could be possible in future. The biggest “obstacle” here seems to be to “work out” a perfectly reliable “database diff” (difference comparison basically) system which is quite a difficult task.

    I can tell, however, that this is something that we’re looking into adding to our Shipper plugin in future – ability to migrate only sub-site of entire multisite. It’s a different thing if it’s done on a plugin level so our developers are looking into this.
