Subscribe By Email isn't sending to all my subscribers

I really want to use this plugin vs. the JetPack subscribe feature due to the customized emails to subscribers, however it seems not everyone is getting them. So far it feels like Google Apps users who have their own domains (vs. a gmail account) are not receiving them. Is there any known issue with this?

So far I can only confirm that this theory is consistent with the two email addresses that have not received anything from our blog yet. Thank you.

    Hi there @Matt Jacoby,

Hope you’re well today and thanks for your question.

We haven’t had other reports of that, though it certainly sounds like a pattern. Just to check, they have confirmed their subscription?

Anything in Spam at all? Are all other members receiving the email correctly?

Could you upgrade to the latest version please

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards

    Jack.

    Hi Jack,

The subscribers have either been added manually by me (our authors) or have used the widget where the single opt-in option was checked, so instant confirmation.

I haven’t had anything in my spam at all, one of the broken emails is one of mine. So far I have had 2 no shows and 1 emailed about an hour ago saying the email content was blank. She uses Yahoo email, so I’m not sure what’s going on there.

I just updated to the latest version. I was unable to a few weeks ago as it appeared my WPMU dashboard widget wasn’t working properly, but when I reactivated it just now it was fine. Lots of weirdness going on, and I deal with WordPress and plugins every day.

Also, I am unable to send myself a test email at the email address that is giving me problems, on Google Apps with my own domain. The other email I signed up with (I signed up with 2 to make sure things were going out properly) got the test email immediately. That one is at icloud.com. I don’t know if that helps at all.

    Thanks!

    Matt

    Hi Jack,

We publish every Tuesday morning, Central US Time. It would be nice to fix this before our next article, but I suppose we don’t know what “this” is to fix.

On the plugin side, everything is reporting correctly, no errors. It’s hard to imagine where the problem lies, our site or with the email provider setup. It’s so select in who it works for.

    Thanks for subscribing.

    Hi there Matt,

Hope you’re well today and thanks for the additional information.

I believe it could be related to the actual email provider receiving the email, rather than the sending setup, if that makes sense? As if it was a sending issue, everyone wouldn’t receive it, rather than just a few

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards

    Jack.

    Hi Jack,

Sorry for the delay here. It’s hard to completely accept that as Gmail works, but Google Apps seems to be a problem. We are using Google’s servers for our MX records. Also, it appears to be on more than one domain using Apps. There are ones I do own or administer and ones I don’t.

I know you subscribed last week to our blog. Did you receive the articles in your email the last couple of Tuesdays?

At the moment we are forced to use JetPack’s subscribe by email plugin to make sure everyone is getting them. Again, it would be nice to try and pin point where my issue is though so we can come back to the WPMU and the customizable email templates  Thanks.

    Hey Jack,

Sounds good, thanks for the update. Hopefully my situation isn’t too weird or too annoying. As a web guy myself, I know how client requests can be really good or really icky.

Also, just a side note, this week we have been migrating our sites to a dedicated server (vs. shared hosting) and maybe there’s something there that could offer a relief to this issue, I’m not sure. I thought it would be worth noting in case it does affect this. The DNS changed for the localsounds.org domain last night (about 11 hours ago), so maybe we’ll see something change with this Tuesday’s blog article.

Thank YOU for your patience.
