Suggestion: include plugin descriptions in plugin dashboard

0

This suggestion is a "would be nice to have" and (I think) fairly easy to implement…

With so many excellent plugins it is quite hard to remember what they are for and what they do. Some plugins come with a brief description of their features so members can see at a glance in their plugins overview what the plugin is for. But most only contain nothing but the version number and the author as a description.

It would be nice to include a plugin features description and two more types of information: a) if the plugin requires other plugins or is an extension thereof and b) if there are more adjustments needed than just putting the plugin into the folder (this can be just a sign like (!) or something and does not have to be a full installation description, anything that says: pay attention to this one. Would be a HUGE time saver!)

I know I’ve asked for a doc hook in the Supporter plugin awhile back.

To be honest, I’d just manually edit the file. Each install is going to want something different of their docs. Most of our installs, all the docs are on a separate blog and include pictures and whatnot. Some of that is for SEO and to be honest, it just seems easier to do the pics on the blogs instead of the dashboard.

As to the plugin description, (ie the bit in the header of the actual plugin file) all that gets rewritten by us and we include links to the locally hosted docs and tutorials.
