Suggestion: Remove Automattic Adverts

Greets:

Just a quick suggest that popped into my head. I know you have the plugin to remove the browse happy advert. Since I know that some folks think that editing core is akin to (edit: We’re having a discussion about this over on our support forums. It’s been a strange morning.) using their #666 check out of their checkbook, can one be created to remove or replace the Automattic advert on the Dashboard -> Manage -> Export page?

We just hard code it out of there ourselves although some clients edit it and replace it with a link to their own.

    And boy, it sure is nice to be able to see a link over on these forums. Sure wish that some other forums would display links like this in bold as well as a darker color instead of a pale blue that’s almost the same color as the regular black text..

    Damn youngsters with their 20/20 vision. Back in my day, we respected our elders. Walked five miles through the ice and lava…

    Oh dear drmike, you don’t expect the young whippersnappers to listen do you? Not like it was back in my day, we worked down the mine 15 hours a day, then at school for 12 hours a day, and that was before we was 5.

    The dashboard does look like a great place for advertising.

    Actually that’s someone’s name who I dare not say’s plus points for his own service. He’s gone on a couple of times about how there’s no advertising on their Dashboard. I personally feel that’s questionable because there’s both the browsehappy banner and the hosting link. None of our installs have advertising on the dashboard but I believe all of them use the Latest Admin Announcement plugin along the top.

    I noted elsewhere in the forums her that the bw logo has been removed although the code is still present. Looks like they removed the function call by accident.
