Supporter Plug-In

Can anyone tell me where I can find the supporter plug-in?

I’m not currently but I have clients who are. They just add in the plugins they want to a single upgrade account and just name it supporter or whatever they call that level.

One site calls them “rabbits” and the credits have been renamed pellets.

it seems it just got released?

    any more info?

does it completely replace the upgrades plugin?

will the upgrades plugin still be maintained or are we advised to switch over?

Does it offer all functions of the upgrades plugin and if not what is missing?

    k, couldn’t wait any longer :slight_frown:

here are some issues and questions:

    – by abandoning the old package system, I can no longer offer different packages, meaning i.e. I cannot assign the main blog a higher quota. I have to change the overall supporter quota, to change the quota on the main blog. formerly one could create a big package, then “purchase” it jsut for the main blog

    – while logged in as the site_admin on the main blog, I can’t seem to see the supporter menue… is that by design? I can only acces the settings

    – the Free days for all new blogs don’t get saved :slight_frown: I changed i.e. to 30 saved, jumped back to 0…

    – any more examples on how to use the plugin except for the quota and ad free stuff?

    – how does the adfree stuff work? will you update the theme pack to incorporate these changes? right now it requires manual changes to all themes, right?

    – will the who sees ads plugin become obsolete?

    Sssshhhh… it’s *almost* been released

More info coming on this soon!

    Just quickly though…

    – by abandoning the old package system, I can no longer offer different packages, meaning i.e. I cannot assign the main blog a higher quota. I have to change the overall supporter quota, to change the quota on the main blog. formerly one could create a big package, then “purchase” it jsut for the main blog

You should be able to change the quota per blogs in Site Admin > Blogs > Edit (default WPMU)

    – while logged in as the site_admin on the main blog, I can’t seem to see the supporter menue… is that by design? I can only acces the settings

    Yep (I think so)

    – the Free days for all new blogs don’t get saved :slight_frown: I changed i.e. to 30 saved, jumped back to 0…

    Hmmm… we’ll take a look.

    – any more examples on how to use the plugin except for the quota and ad free stuff?

Disabling whole swathes of WPMU functionality  But there’ll be more on that in a bit.

    – how does the adfree stuff work? will you update the theme pack to incorporate these changes? right now it requires manual changes to all themes, right?

Yes, we will, it’s much easier than WSA of course!

    – will the who sees ads plugin become obsolete?

Although this still has great value so we’ll continue to maintain a WPMU version of it.

Hope that helps… hang on for more info on it over the next few days, ther are a few personal things that may well get in the way of this so your patience is mucho appreciated.

    Cheers, James

    thx for the info.

as soon as I found the plugin in the downloads section but no release post had been made, I knew I was ahead of time. But as you can clearly see, my patience lasted from morning till after work, then I HAD to install it

You should be able to change the quota per blogs in Site Admin > Blogs > Edit (default WPMU)

that never worked, jsut tested: I set the quota of a blog higher than the default, then check that blog’s dashboard and it still displays the default quota there :slight_frown: didn’t work out with the upgrades plugin either, I had to subscribe to one of the packages to get more upload space for the main blog too…
