[The Hub] API and webhooks for Client Billing

As a reseller/agency I’d love to see an API and webhooks for Client Billing so we can integrate it with our own accounting software and use local payment methods.

Concretely, I’m asking for:

A Client Billing API to manage clients, invoices and subscriptions programmatically.

Webhooks for key billing events (invoice created/paid/failed, subscription changes).

The ability to use an external invoicing system as the legal invoice source, while still showing billing inside The Hub.

More flexibility in payment methods (either full control over Stripe methods including iDeal/Bancontact/Wero/Bitcoin or support for attaching our own payment links).

This would make Client Billing much more usable for agencies worldwide where local payment methods are essential, and would significantly increase the value of WPMU DEV as a white-label platform for resellers.

Hope to get support from this community so the wpmudev development team can set priorities on this.

    Hi Vicky

    Hope you are well and safe.

    Unfortunately, at this moment we don’t have any plan to create a public API for HUB or Client and Billing system.

    I understand you could use it for connecting external tool, especially the AI tools to automate procedures but we don’t have any plans to expose the API publicly.

    Regarding implementing integration with AI tools, I will bring your idea to our development team’s attention. I hope we can extend and work on it in future updates.

      Hi Amin,

      I was addressing the AI impact to the business. We already see hosting providers accelerate including AI based WordPress solutions and here we still can’t bill our customers using wpmudev client billing.

      To resell we forced to skip the whole wpmudev client billing because it doesn’t support the right local payment systems, we ask for a solution to integrate the hub with our own accounting software, makes everything much easier.

    I am thankful for your active follow-up regarding this feature. We have already shared your suggestions and feedback with our dev team on this matter. We strive to include features that are recommended largely by our members, and I hope more members will express their interest in this feature so that it gets some priority.

    From the members’ point of view, I can understand it can be a bit time-consuming to wait for improvements to be added. However, considering the process to ensure quality and good functionality of the services, this process is important as it affects all the users at large.

    I would like to assure you that your concern has been communicated to our Dev team for further review.
