[The Hub] Audit Log for Hub

1

Sometimes websites are automatically removed from the hub, especially if the automatic update of the WPMUDEV dashboard plugin fails. It would be nice to have an audit log for at least adding and removing websites from the hub.

I wouldn’t ever update plugins via the hub.

I had several instances where a plugin (different each time) update would fail and only the plugin folder and a couple of files remained on the website.

There was no error notification in the hub, you wouldn’t even realize there was a problem until you logged in to the WP Admin and got a notification that the plugin was no longer available.

The problem never could be replicated by rolling it back to the pre update backup so support was never able to troubleshoot the problem.

We do not update the WPMUDEV Dashboard plugin automatically. In the past, we have also forgotten to deactivate the option “Automatically update the WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin” in WPMU DEV > Settings > General. We realized too late that the website was removed from the hub for the reason mentioned above. For this reason, it would be handy if the notifications in the dashboard would receive an entry every time a site is added to or removed from the hub.

Many thanks to you, Patrick, for forwarding this request. After 4 years of experience with the Hub, there are just little things that we have realized over the years that we would like to see improved. It would be nice to see some of these little things like an improved audit log in the future.
