[The Hub Client] Custom messaging + granular control for disabled features in the Hub Client

Hi there- I’ve noticed that when some features are disabled from a particular client user role, sometimes the buttons linking to these features still show up in the dashboard, but lead to a dead link, blank screen or an error message.

From a UX perspective, it would be preferred if these features could instead either hide completely, and/or show a simple message saying something like “Sorry this feature is disabled, contact support for help, or to upgrade your account.”

I currently use the Hub Client to show clients a limited view of their website dashboard, and enable certain features based on their plan, but I would like to still show the full scope of some features available to encourage an upsell for access.

A particular poor instance of this is how the configs menu still shows, even when setting everything to view only access (wouldn’t want clients touching these), or if you have security enabled in the user role but the Defender plugin disabled, it will show the welcome screen with a big button to “Activate” however upon clicking it just leads to a generic error message.
