[The Hub Client] Recommendations in THC

There are a number of “recommended services” that aren’t valid in the hub client. For example, I am pretty sure images are smushed :wink:. And even if one or two images weren’t, the recommendation below still wouldn’t match. Thanks

    Hi DPS Bot ,

    Could you elaborate this a bit more as I’m not sure that I’m following how you have things set up on your end.
    Is Smush activated on the site in question? If Smush isn’t active the Hub can’t know if the images are optimized or not and it would show recommended plugins to be used.

    Or am I missing something and you are referring to something different? :slight_smile:

    Thanks for the additional info, I tried testing this further on my end but I’m afraid that I couldn’t replicate the issue you’re having.
    I started with a site that had no WPMU DEV plugins active which did display Recommended Services. As I was activating and setting them up one by one so did the recommended services started disappearing, this happened with Smush as well and recommendation was gone after I set it up.

    Can you tell me which site you have THC installed on and what is the site you’re checking that shows this recommendation?

    Since you mentioned that you couldn’t grant support access to this site, could you grab screenshot of your Smush settings so I could try setting it up in the same way on my test site and see if any specific setup combo could be causing this?

    Another thing that would make the hub client better is if clients couldn’t see the recommendations even if they were valid.

    I’ve passed this over to our Hub Client team to look into adding a toggle option for recommendations section :slight_smile:

    After your reply I went and checked, my account doesn’t have this problem either.

    Hey DPS Bot ,

    Thanks a lot for that, I was able to replicate it by following your setup, it seems that it’s caused by Plugins option disabled in Role editor, I’ve already tasked it up for the devs to check it out further.
    I’m sending some points your way for bringing this to our attention :slight_smile:

    P.S. I got back from the Hub Client team in the meantime and we’ve added Recommended Services toggle on the to-do list for future improvements :slight_smile:
