[The Hub Client] Support for more european payment systems

3

After studying possibilities using the wpmudev Hub Client and reselling through Stipe payments we found out it’s only possible for customers to pay by creditcards.

In Europe creditcards are a great business stopper.

So what we need is more payment modalities like iDeal (Netherlands) BanContact (Belgium) etc.

Will wpmudev add support for more payment systems?

      Hi VickyV

I don’t have any updates on that yet but It still is on a list of future features.

So far it was a priority to provide most of the crucial/fundamental “functional” features to Clients & Billing and Reseller tools so they’d be a “full suite” and extensions/improvement will come in future but I don’t have ETA, I’m afraid.

      Kind regards,
      Adam

        Hi Julian

I can now activate these payment methods (iDEAL and SEPA) in Stripe in my WPMU DEV managed account. If I recall correctly this wasn’t possible before. Maybe they did implement these options recently

In my responses I was referring to “other” payment methods as in “not Stripe/not through Stripe”. If it comes to Stripe, I admit you got me here.

I mean: for sure you can enable various methods in Stripe itself but I’m not quite sure if they would work with us already. Our developers have tasks planned related to that exactly but I see they are still open – aren’t marked as done and I don’t see any related deployments made on our end. So I honestly admin I’m not sure at this moment. I’ve asked our Hub Team but it may take quite a while until I got direct response on that.

Did you enable it and it actually works for you with Client & Billing?

        Best regards,
        Adam

        Hi again Julian

I just got confirmation that it was not yet changed/updated on our end. Stripe will let you enable those payment methods but they won’t work with our Client&Billing/Reseller so far. It’s planned to get them there but it didn’t happen yet.

        Kind regards
        Adam

So if we’re not able to collect the payments, what do you suggest because I’m wondering what to do. Is it wise to start setting up clients & billing and reselling or still waiting to start?

Now the emails sending out are not totally branded. I got the advice to setup clients & billing to be able customize branding mails.

But we need other European payment systems, as for now everything is on hold for Europe.

    How to proceed?

      Hi VickyV

      Thank you for response!

I’m sorry for keeping you waiting but it really is not for me to decide which features get implemented when. I can only pass information to you in that matter and at this moment, there is no news on this particular aspect so I’m not able to tell you for how long would you need to wait.

On the other hand, as far as I’m aware Stripe is working in Europe in most countries. We have a lot of Members from Europe that are using Stripe – for example with Forminator and other 3rd-party plugin. Is there any specific limitation/restriction/requirement that’s blocking you or some sort of “contry-based” specific obstacles?

As for other ways to proceed, at the moment the only way would be to collect payments independently.

You’d still need to setup and connect Stripe account as it’s required by the system on our end and invoices sent to clients would have a payment button but you could add a clear statement to invoices and any client notifications/messages asking them not to use it and instead use included custom payment link of yours. Then after you see payment made you can manually mark such invoices as paid.

I’m aware that this is far from ideal but that’s at least a workaround that could be done currently.

      Kind regards,
      Adam

Thank you Adam, we’re going to setup and give it a try.

Yes, sure Stripe is available in Europe and they support all payments we need, therefore I don’t understand what’s taking so long to implement this. Seems more like a matter of enabling these payments.

Hope you guys will give it more priority and find out to give us an ETA.
