Uptime – daily notifications for site going down and back up

My site seems to keep going down and then coming back up a few minutes later. I get notifications almost daily at this point.

I chatted with support about this yesterday, and someone had me increase the WP memory on the site to see if it would help, It looks like it didn’t solve whatever the issue is.

    Hello Niecolas

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

The Uptime stats in The Hub show no downtime withing last 24 hours, 4 (short) incidents in last 7 days and 6 in total in last 30 days. That rate usually means that either site was indeed down for these short amounts of time these days or – which is even more likely – it just slowed down temporarily, to the point where response to the Uptime check was taking too long.

If site doesn’t response in about 30 seconds it’s considered down by the Uptime check (even if it actually is up but just responds slower).

However, in these last days we were also experiencing some API issues on our end and that seems to correlate. Currently the issues are solved but there we’re still experiencing some site-effects/consequences that might be affecting some services (such as Uptime) for some of the registered sites. It seems that your site is one of those as at the moment it’s not possible to enable Uptime back from the site – it returns an error. Our developers are working on this along with our admins so I believe we should soon see that fixed and once the Uptime can be enabled back, we’ll be able to see if those downtime incidents are still happening (thus requiring further investigation) or not.

That said, I’d like to ask you to wait a few hours more and try to enable Uptime from the site’s back-end again ( via “Hummingbird -> Uptime” page). If it still gives an error, let me know please. If it does activate, please keep an eye on site and notifications to see if those downtimes are still occurring or not and we’ll then see whether it needs further troubleshooting.

    Kind regards,

    Adam
