Uptime showing site Down

Uptime is showing the website is shown as down, however, the site is loading fine. Would like to know what went wrong.

Please check, and advise what caused the issue.

    Hello Herb,

    I checked Uptime for your site and it showed Socket Timeout error when the site was showing it’s down. But this errors doesn’t mean that site is down.

    There are some cases when the site is reported as being down while it’s not really down, just slow. Our Uptime monitoring sets “limit” to 30 seconds (if I’m not mistaken) so if the site doesn’t respond with expected HTTP headers, it is considered as “down”.

    Due to stability and performance (and results reliability) we had to arbitrary set such “timeout threshold” so all these “connection timeouts” are reflected in the Uptime report.

    For example, a common reason that site might slow down is that in this very moment there is backup performed, so it was a temporary problem with a bigger load for the server.
